When other working conditions are the same, the same bellows has better stability when subjected to external pressure than internal pressure. Therefore, the maximum pressure resistance when subjected to external pressure is higher than when subjected to internal pressure. When the two ends of the bellows are fixed, if enough pressure is passed into the inner cavity of the bellows, the wave crest of the bellows may be damaged by blasting. The pressure value inside the bellows when the bellows begins to burst is called the burst pressure. The burst pressure is a parameter that characterizes the maximum compressive strength of the bellows. During the entire working process of the bellows, its working pressure is much lower than the burst pressure, otherwise the bellows will be broken and damaged. When the corrugation length is less than or equal to the outer diameter, the calculated result is very close to the actual burst pressure; for the slender bellows, the actual burst pressure is much lower. The burst pressure is approximately 3 to 10 times the allowable working pressure."
